Salt dough shapes

This was a great craft that Jambin and I did over the past two days. I got the idea from this post at the Long Thread blog.

First we made the salt dough, using the recipe in the Long Thread post.


Then we rolled the dough out flat:


Then we cut shapes out of the dough using biscuit cutters:


Then we poked holes in the dough shapes, and baked them in the oven:


Then we painted them:


We let the paint dry overnight, and then we threaded them onto embroidery floss:


And made a bee-yoo-tiful necklace!

Thanks Lucy! The jelly bean cloth is just from spotlight, available by the metre. It's nice and bright and hides all the crusted weetbix, playdough and finger paint.
